NAM Announces Emerging Leaders in Health and Medicine

The National Academy of Medicine announced 10 new Emerging Leaders in Health and Medicine Scholars. These individuals are early- to mid-career professionals from a wide range of health-related fields, from microbiology and surgery to sociology and biomedical engineering.


A Call for Action to Reduce Air Pollution


The NAS and NAM joined the science academies of South Africa, Brazil, and Germany in issuing a statement on June 19 calling for urgent worldwide action to reduce air pollution.

The statement was handed over to senior United Nations representatives and diplomats from the four nations at a ceremony today in New York.
